Tyler Area Test TX HIV Regional Meeting
August 25, 2011
Purpose: Participants will learn how HIV/AIDS is affecting Tyler and the surrounding communities, explore the medical ethics surrounding HIV testing, and hear about the successful implementation of routine testing in emergency departments in the Memorial Hermann Hospitals in Houston. Additionally, there will be a discussion about community ownership of HIV testing and care in Tyler and surrounding counties.

The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) HIV/STD Program hosted the 17th Texas HIV/STD Conference on May 24-27, 2010 in Austin, Texas. The goal of the Texas HIV/STD Conference is to facilitate the delivery of effective HIV/STD prevention and care services by strengthening and enhancing the skill base of HIV/STD professionals.
